Suncity Braves head into GSP Basketball League’s fifth week leading the eight team standing as the side prepares to take on Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints on Saturday October 29 in Sunyani.
The defending champions reclaimed top spot in the league after recording a 45-30 win over Desert Rabbits which extended the side’s winning run to four in the young season. Braves got a helping hand from University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) as the side torched Barracks Scorpions 65-29 in the standout result of Week Four.
Saints, on the other hand, have been in free fall since opening the season with two wins. A 22-25 loss was the latest defeat the side has suffered in recent weeks.
Hitherto leaders, Scorpions will play Sunyani Polytechnic as the ever improving West Siders play LIR Royals. Prior to the last round, West Siders would be tipped to win the tie easily but a shock 30-29 win over home side Sunyani Polytechnic has put the fixture up in the air.
