After suffering a 33-39 loss to Flashlights of Tema New Town in Game One of the Tema Community Basketball League postseason finals series, Team Coach Emmanuel Partey has stated correcting mistakes will be key in getting the side a win.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com after losing Game One, Partey singled out rebounding as his side’s major problem against the bigger and athletic New Town side. Though he cited bad calls from referees as one of the reasons for the loss, he was particularly concerned about preventing second scoring chances for the opposing team.

“We hope to correct the mistakes…We have to find a way to get them away from the rim first of all…we will deal with it” he said.

Despite leading the game for long stretches, Community 12 succumbed to intense pressure from Flashlights particularly in the fourth quarter as Point Guard Kingsley Quist converted three straight three point shots to lead the comeback and secure the first win for third place.

Community 12 Shooting Guards Jibril Musah and David Laryea had a bad spell shooting the ball from deep and will be counted on to carry the offense.

Nungua Coldstore can end the season as champions should the side beat Ashaiman Lions for the second straight week. Nungua won Game One 48-39.
