img-20161108-wa0009Ghana’s leading basketball frontier Viasat 1 has successfully launched “Courtside” Basketball Show earlier today. The show’s maiden episode will air on Sunday November 13 between 14:00 and 16:00 GMT.

The launch which took place at the channel’s studio had veteran broadcaster and leading basketball voice in the country, Yaw Sakyi Afari, Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong and Viasat 1 Acting Chief Executive Officer Richmond Sey in attendance.

Afari, will host the show which will feature highlights of NBA Games, interviews and analyses from seasoned basketball pundits. Activities on the Ghanaian scene will be highlighted as well, as the sport continues to gain ground in the West African country.

Speaking at the launch, Richmond Sey was delighted with upcoming program stating, “Courtside will engage local basketball people and reward them…it’s a great time to partner this product and stand to gain a lot”.

Viasat 1 recently acquired exclusive rights to telecast live games from the world’s best basketball league and the addition of the two hour long program places the station ahead of the competition. Association Chairman Addo Ashong sounded adamant having the games shown to Ghanaians would be beneficial.

He said:“The NBA being shown live on TV will serve as inspiration to players who get to see their heroes”.

NBA Vice President and Managing Director for Africa Amadou Gallo Fall, who was contacted via phone during the launch, was equally pleased with venture.
