Kumasi Girls celebrate a first ever regional title.
The 2016 Ashanti Regional Basketball Championship has concluded with Opoku Ware School and Kumasi Girls Senior High School emerging winners of the boys and girls division respectively.

Both schools managed to top the division despite the stern challenge of a strong field that includes Prempeh College and Kumasi Anglican Senior High School in the boys division and three time regional champions T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in the girls division.

Courtesy of the win, both schools will represent the region at the national championship-Sprite Ball Championship-in January 2017.

They and beaten finalists Prempeh College and T.I. Ahmadiya’s female side will compete in Ghana’s capital, Accra next year against defending champions St.Augustine’s College and Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School.

Boys Division
Opoku Ware 37-0 Kumasi Academy
Opoku Ware 24-8 T. I. Ahmadiyya
Opoku Ware 27-26 Prempeh College

Girls Division
