League Champions to break sweat on Sunday

Winners of the Tema Community Basketball League, Nungua Coldstore, will be in action for the first time in a competitive game since last year as the side gets ready to feature in the Campaign Tournament this weekend.

The side has been placed in Group A alongside teams from Tema Communities 4 and 2 respectively and Kings Basketball Club and games will be played on Sunday, February 12 at the Chinese Basketball Court in Community 4.

Tip off time is 11:00 AM GMT.

Coldstore last featured in a competitive game in the Ebi Bright Tournament late last year after winning the maiden edition of the league; the side beat Ashaiman Lions to lift the trophy.

The Campaign Tournament, per organizer Fred Yeboah is a curtain raiser for the upcoming league season and looks to put players in shape for what is expected to be an expanded format for the upcoming campaign.

The top two teams from each group qualify to the latter stages that take place on March 12 at the same venue. There are four groups in all featuring the likes of Tudu Magic, Gbevu Nation and Ghana Navy.
