2016 Tema Community Basketball League runner up Ashaiman Lions will be in the hunt for redemption this season as the League calendar gets activated on Sunday February 12 at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court.

The side will feature in the league’s preseason competition-Campaign Tournament- as it prepares for a long season ahead later this year when the season tips off.

Drawn in Group B alongside Tema Heat, Community 12 and Don Bosco Giants, Lions gets to compete on February 19 exactly a week after fierce rival and reigning league champion Nungua Coldstore opens the tournament in Group A.

Ashaiman is expected to return with almost the same roster that finished second in the league including Defensive Player Award winner Carl Kuzagbe, Center Abdul Bashiru and Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw.

All three players made it to the All-Star Team.

Community 2 failed to qualify for the league playoffs and Bosco will be counting on its Under 19 side to fight for one of two qualifying slots in the Campaign Tournament.

Only the two teams from each of the four groups qualify to play in the next round on March 12.
