The competition is a curtain raiser for the upcoming 2017 Tema Community Basketball League.
Last season’s finalist takes on Tema Heat, Community 12 and Don Bosco Giants for the group’s top two positions that secures passage to the quarter finals on March 12.
On an individual level, Lions defensive ace Carl Kuzagbe is set to be in the running for the group’s top award following an excellent campaign last year.
His excellent form earned him Defensive Player of the league honors and an All-Star call up. He is in a strong field that includes teammate and fellow All-Star Abdul Bashiru.
Nungua Coldstore’s Joseph Boye was named the Most Valuable Player in Group A games played on February 12.
The sweet shooting Center dominated play as Coldstore qualified from Group A with Community 2. Last season’s league champions won all three games.
