The Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League resurfaced after a lengthy break at the Eusbett Hotel Court in Ghana’s Brong-Ahafo capital, Sunyani with LIR recording the biggest shock of the round after beating Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 54-33.

That shock win for LIR moves them up the standings for the first time since the opening rounds of the league last year.

Defending champions Suncity Braves continued its winning ways with a 27-21 win over Sunyani Technical University (STU) in the second game

Installation of new lights at the venue enabled league administrators fix games late in the day to draw more spectators to watch the games.

Hitherto, the absence of lights forced organizers to play games early in the day affecting spectatorship in the process.

As such, games involving Desert Rabbits and Barracks Scorpions and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and West Siders were played past sunset.

The Rabbits continued its improved form by winning 34-16 and UENR accounted for West Siders 34-12.

Below is a full list of results recorded in Week 8:

CUCG Saints 33-54 LIR

Suncity Braves 27-21 STU

Rabbits 34-16 Scorpions

UENR 34-12 West Siders
