The 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I begins on March 11 with a tie involving DC Dynamics and home side Tudu Magic at the Lebanon House Court at 17:00 GMT.

The original start date was pegged on March 10 a day after the Women’s Division opening game at the same venue. However, the league announced the men’s opening round has been postponed to Saturday.

Investigations by Basketballghana.com indicate a chunk of referees and players set to compete for the respective will be engaged at the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which takes place on Friday.

Several players including Ghana Navy Forward David Asingar and Dynamics Guard Lankai Blankson-Mills will be in action for Marshalls University College and University of Ghana (UG) respectively.

The first two rounds of ABL games will be played in honor of Matthias Ocloo and Benjamin Baafi who both passed away in recent weeks.

Both men served the league in several capacities with Ocloo playing an active role in founding the league and Baafi prior to his death, was the league’s administrator.
