Bentil in action for Fort Wayne.

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil went scoreless again for Dallas Mavericks in the team’s 122-111 win over Los Angeles Lakers on a night Dirk Nowitzki became just the sixth player in NBA history to score 30,000 points.

This was Bentil’s third straight scoreless outing at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. He failed to appear in both prior home games since signing a 10 day contract from Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA’s Development League.

Bentil failed to score despite taking three attempts including a three point shot; he played three minutes and 48 seconds.

The first Ghana-born player to play in the NBA would have his future decided in a few hours following the expiration of his contract.

He and Point Guard Quinn Cook signed similar contracts in late February but Cook has fared better playing extensive minutes and producing fair performances.

The Guard played 17 minutes in Dallas’ latest win scoring 10 points.

Bentil has also played in the Chinese Basketball Association for Guanghui Xinjiang Flying Tigers since he was drafted 51st overall in 2016.
