Don Bosco Giants (Black) in action against Tema Heat in Group B encounter played last weekend.
Coldstore won the competition.

Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate this year’s Tema Community Basketball League will commence on March 26.

The league was a huge success last year and efforts are being made to ensure the standards achieved in 2016 are maintained and improved with media coverage of games, the main issue among others to be addressed.

However, lingering issues could delay the league’s start which is set to be played out at Tema Community 4 Court.
The new season is expected to have an expanded field significantly up from the seven team roster that featured in the 2016 Championship.

In the lead up to the tentative big day, league officials including Fred Yeboah successfully organized a preseason competition dubbed the Campaign Tournament which ended over the weekend.

League Champions Nungua Coldstore emerged winners after beating Tudu Magic 32-26 in overtime with Ghana Navy coming third.

The tournament lasted for a month and per Yeboah, the reason for the curtain raiser’s formation (getting teams in shape for the upcoming season and increasing awareness) was achieved.
