Senegal Center Hamady N’Diaye will miss qualification games for the 2017 AfroBasket Championship this month.

He will miss the qualifiers which takes place between March 16 and 18 in the first leg and March 24-26 in Bamako, Mali.

Senegal has been drawn in Zone 2 against Guinea, Cape Verde and Mali for the chance to play in Brazzaville, Congo Republic between August 19 and 30.

Speaking to FIBA.com on a wide range of issues, the former Washington Wizards player expressed disappointment after missing out on the chance to represent his country due to scheduling reasons with his side Bnei Herzliya competing in the Israeli League.

“I am in regular contact with my national teammates and I think that we are well covered for the tournament. Hopefully, I will be ready for the African championship. I love playing for my country, and I will always be there to give my best for Senegal” he said.

Other prominent players missing in the Senegal team include Minnesota Timberwolves Center/ Forward Gorgui Dieng. Senegal placed fourth at the 2015 AfroBasket Championship after falling 73-82 to host Tunisia.
