Central (red) won the matchup.

Central University has ended its campaign in the 2017 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship on a winning note courtesy a 24-20 win over Wisconsin International University College.

The win was Central’s second of the tournament which is marked improvement on what the team achieved last season when it lost all three games in the preliminary round. Despite the wins, Central will not feature in the latter stage of the competition .

A huge 25-42 loss to Accra Technical University (ATU) cost the side a place in the quarterfinals because the loss meant ATU will end the competition in the zone as winners.

Central won its opening game in the zone by beating Pentecost University College 27-24. The win was remarkable for Central who battled from an eight point deficit to clinch the win before losing to ATU.

Wisconsin University finish in third place with the winless Pentecost University on track to finish bottom of the zone standings unless it pulls of an unlikely win over ATU.
