There were a number of triple-doubles scored in the NBA last night. LeBron James had his in the Cleveland-Portland overtime finish, Draymond Green’s came in the Warriors-Wizards matchup, but the one that stood out the most was Russell Westbrook’s 40th of the season, which now brings him within one of matching Oscar Robertson’s record for most threes in a single season.

Hornets sting Thunder

OKC workhorse Russell Westbrook’s 40-point triple-double (40 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) was not enough to secure his team victory as the Thunder were beaten 113-101 by the Charlotte Hornets. Kemba Walker had 29 points, four assists and four steals, Frank Kaminsky had 18 points and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 16 points and six rebounds.

Nigerian-American Victor Oladipo had 19 points and six assists for Oklahoma City and Andre Roberson had 12 points and six rebounds.

Cavs run past Pacers

LeBron James also had a 40-point triple-double (41 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists) in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 135-130 double overtime win over the Indiana Pacers. Kyrie Irving had 23 points, five rebounds and seven assists, while Kevin Love had a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Paul George had 43 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, CJ Mile had 27 points and six assists, while Thaddeus Young finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Warriors vanquish Wizards

The Golden State Warriors held home court and beat the Washington Wizards 139-115. Stephen Curry had 42 points and eight assists, Klay Thompson had 23 points and Draymond Green ended the night with an 11-point, 12-rebound, 13-assists triple-double.

The Wizards were led by Bojan Bogdanovic with 20 points and six rebounds, Bradley Beal also had 20 points and five assists, and John Wall had a 15-point, 11-assist double-double.

Rockets strike Suns

The Houston Rockets defeated the Phoenix Suns 123-116 on the back of Patrick Beverly’s 26 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, Lou Williams had 23 points and four rebounds, and Eric Gordon had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Tyler Ulis had 34 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Suns, Devin Booker had 27 points, five rebounds and nine assists, and Jared Dudley finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Celtics take New York

The Boston Celtics beat the New York Knicks 110-94. Isaiah Thomas had 19 points and six assists, Jaylen Brown 16 points, and Al Horford 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Knicks were led by Courtney Lee with 16 points and five assists, Kristaps Porzingis had 14 points and Willy Hernangomez ended the game with 12 points.

The Rest

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 108-103, good team play by the Mavericks had them beat the Bucks 109-105 in Milwaukee, Kawhi Leonard’s 25-point game helped the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Utah Jazz 109-103, the Chicago Bulls beat the New Orleans Pelicans 117-110 on the back of Jimmy Butler’s 39 points, Congolese power forward Serge Ibaka put up 24 points and grabbed six boards in the Toronto Raptors’ 113-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Brooklyn Nets stunned the Atlanta Hawks 91-82, and the Denver Nuggets beat the Miami Heat 116-113.
