University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and Accra Technical University (ATU) have secured qualification to the semifinals of the 2017 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Both teams sealed the top two spots in Group B to make it to the next round.
UENR beat All Nations University College 52-48 despite trailing by three points in the final minutes of the game.

However, a string of inspired performances from Robert Brew brought his side back in the game and into the semis for the first time in the school’s history in the highly rated competition.

UENR’s win put the Sunyani-based side ahead of University of Development Studies (UDS-Tamale) who recorded a solitary win but with an inferior goal difference (2) to UENR’s (4).

Two time winners made good on their overwhelming favorites tag ahead of the games by blitzing its way through the game to top the Group. ATU wiped out UDS with a 55-16 win to complete a three game winning run.

The final round of games in Group A between Marshalls University College and KNUST and University of Ghana and University of Cape-Coast will be played early on April 8.
