Marshalls topped favorites Accra Technical University in a close game.

Reigning Champions of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship University of Ghana (UG) has won its semifinal tie against University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

UG, who are hosting the prestigious Championship beat the Sunyani-based side 45-20 to seal its place in the final game of the Championship for the second straight time.

UG led through the entire duration of the game racing into a 23-8 lead exciting the fans with a couple of impressive dunks.

In the lead up to the game UENR planned on making a grand start but that didn’t materialize as UENR’s naivety competing at this stage of the competition showed; the side competed in the quarterfinals last year.

UENR was overwhelmed by UG’s sheer size, speed and coordination. UG Guard and Most Valuable Player of the tournament candidate Joel Kwame Opoku didn’t feature much in the game but his teammates got the job done in easy fashion.

UG plays Marshalls next in the final game having topped the same opponent 40-31 in Group A in the quarterfinals.
