UENR in action against University of Ghana..

Week 13 games in the Global Sporting Projects (GSP) Basketball League failed to be honored at the Eusbett Hotel Court in Sunyani primarily due to the absence of University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG).

UENR was in Ghana’s capital Accra to compete in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship while CUCG wrapped up competing in the Private Universities Sports Associations Games (PUSAG).

Per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com, the situation in the league, which is entering the home stretch, made it difficult to play games without the tertiary side in town.

The league’s 2017 season has been closely fought with defending champions Suncity Braves leading (CUCG) Saints due to a superior goal difference as both sides are tied with 20 points.

UENR placed fourth in the UPAC Championship after losing to eventual winners University of Ghana in the semifinal and record winners Accra Technical University in the bronze medal game.

CUCG on the other hand failed to get to the PUSAG semifinals.
