The statesman donated 1,500 Ghana Cedis in the aftermath of the Akatsi All Star Basketball Reunion Tournament which was organized to raise funds for the construction of the court.
Honorable Ahiafor’s generous gesture was part of a group of benevolent individuals including Dr. Senyo of Tantra Community Clinic who donated 50 bags of cement; pledges were made by several guests at the event including a 1000 Ghana Cedis promise from the Akatsi District Assembly.
For winning the tournament, Akatsi Rifles received a new set of jersey courtesy Ivansen Limited.
The side who play in the Tema Community Basketball League beat out the likes of Sea Blue Team, Past Senior Players Team and Akatsi Senior High Technical School.
Makafui Agudzeamegah won the Most Valuable Player Award of the Tournament and the the Three point contest.
