A full week after heavy rains inundated most parts of Ghana’s capital region Accra forcing the cancellation of games in the Tema Community Basketball League, fixtures were honored this time around at Tema’s Community 4 Basketball Court.
Reformers of Prisons tipped off life in the League with a commanding performance and win in the opening game of the round by beating Community 12 41-21. The 20 point win margin represents a terrific start from the Cantonments-based side who are playing in the league for the first time.
Teshie Rangers completed matters in Group A with a 25-23 win over Community 5. Rangers won the tough duel before action in Group B got underway.
Community 2 won its tie against Ashaiman Warriors by beating the side latter 58-37 to begin proceedings in Group A.
Unlike the previous game, the contest was a long shot from a competitive one as C5 bossed around the debutant.
Home side Community 4 made its partisan support count by winning its tie against Don Bosco Giants; C4 beat Bosco 43-22 for another big margin score in Group B.
