University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) will be in a title deciding matchup against Suncity Braves on Saturday April 29 at the Eusbett Hotel Court.

What seemed as a runaway consecutive title for Braves got checked back following UENR’s 56-6 demolition of Barracks Scorpions putting the side on 22 points just a point behind Braves in the standings.

A win for UENR will do to claim the title from Braves who won the maiden edition of the league last year.

The team’s win over Scorpions in an outstanding fixture on Monday April 23 heaps more pressure on Braves to defend its title.

Unlike last season, Braves has fared worse this season particularly in the second round where it has lost two games since the turn of the year. In 2016, Braves won all games to lift the title.

A win on the final day of competition will cap off a successful year for the tertiary side following its exploits at this year’s UPAC (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges) Basketball Championship; UNER placed fourth.
