The Global Sporting Project (GSP) Basketball League 2016-2017 season has concluded with University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) emerging champions after beating defending champions Suncity Braves 26-25 in the title decider.

UENR Point Guard Robert Fiifi Brew was named Most Valuable Player for the season.

On the other hand, Desert Rabbits celebrated a successful campaign after ending the season with two straight wins.

The side beat Sunyani Technical University 22-19 in an outstanding game before finishing of a good week with a 28-19 over LIR Royals in the season finale of games.

Those win will prove crucial in netting Rabbits third spot in the standings which is a huge spike in performance from last season where the side languished in the last two spots for much of the campaign with LIR Royals.

Thanks to Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints failure to turn for the game against Sunyani Tech, Rabbits win over Royals gives the side 21 points one more than the Saints point tally for the season.
