Games in the knockout stage of this year’s Tema Under 19 Basketball Tournament will not take place later today since the fixtures have been postponed.
Fixtures were scheduled to be honored today at Tema’s Community 4 Court but got cancelled following an announcement from organizers.
That means qualified teams from the preliminary stage, Tema Communities 4 and 12, Tema West Basketball Academy and Nungua Youngings, will begin hostilities on Saturday September 9 at the same venue.
Community 4 and Nungua qualified from Group A while Community 12 and Tema West Academy made it out of Group B.
By C4 is set to meet Tema West and Nugua will play Group B runner up Community 12 in the semis for a spot in the final game.
Teams including DC Dynamics, Icons Academy, Flashlights from Tema New Town, Don Bosco Giants, Junior Rangers and Junior Reformers competed in the preliminary rounds played on August 19 and August 26.
The competition was last held in 2016 during the Christmas Festivities and is organized by high ranking members of the Tema Basketball League.
