Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye is running for the Organizing Secretary position in the Accra Basketball League Executive elections Basketballghana.com can confirm.

The elections will be held on Friday September 8 at the Lebanon House Forecourt with several interested personalities expected to join the process by submitting their candidature.

The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary General, Organizing Secretary and Treasury positions are open to be voted on by stakeholders.

Quaye’s interest in playing an administrative role is not surprising since the veteran Coach and former player has been heavily involved in administering the ABL.

News reaching Ghana’s leading hoops portal indicate personalities including Aurora Commodore-Toppar and Andrews Bulley are in the running for places on the executive board.

Toppar is interested in the Vice Chairman position currently occupied by Kofi Amanyor while Bulley is in the running for the Chairman slot.

Quaye is the heartbeat of one of Ghana’s best teams Tema Youth playing vital roles in several positions on the team’s hierarchy.

He has served as the bankroller, Coach and mentor of the team taking children through the ranks of the game for well over a decade.
