Former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I player Rome Wilfred Enan has been named in Ivory Coast’s 12 man roster for the 2017 African Nations Championship (AfroBasket).

The Championship commences September 8 and ends on September 16; this year’s Championship will be held in Senegal and Tunisia.

This year’s event is the firt time the competition is being co hosted. Ivory Coast is in Group A with Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo and defending champions Nigeria.

The 6 foot 10 inch Center made the shortlist for the West African side after impressing Kwara Falcons in the Kwese Nigerian Premier Basketball League.

Enan moved to Nigeria after featuring for Braves of Customs in the ABL where he won multiple league titles.

In his first year in Nigeria, Enan made the All Star Team, was named the Most Outstanding Player at the All-Star Game and was a league MVP nominee.

He was named 2015 Ghana Basketball Awards Tertiary Player of the Year following his starring role in Accra Technical University’s triumph at the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Championship.
