Rifles (black) lost for the third time this season against Panthers.
Akatsi Rifles will not be competing in the upcoming games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II later this week.

The team is not part of the six outfits set to be play in the latest round of the 2017 season; games will be played on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Rifles have been active since the season began featuring in three straight games which Akatsi has lost all including a 41-49 loss to Panthers in the last game involving the side.

However, this week’s fixtures does not feature the rising team. On September 13, Junior Rangers open the round with a tie against Ghana Police before Panthers play Tudu Galaxy.

On September 15, Novas Academy play yet to beaten CYO and Dunks Knight play Navy Warriors before DC Aspirants play Junior Reformers and Reformers of Prisons take on Spartans in the final matchup.

The break gives Akatsi time to prep for the upcoming challenge in this year’s lenghty campaign which ends in December.

Despite brilliant individual play, the team has not functioned as a cohesive unit.
