Ghana Police will be in action on Sunday September 17 against Ashaiman Lions in the Tema Basketball League in what is a straight battle for second place in the competition’s Group A.

The game is due to be honored at Tema’s Community 4 Court and is one of the most anticipated games in this year’s regular season.

Police lie second in the group with 22 points one ahead of Lions with both teams safely through to the postseason.

The fixture was originally scheduled to be honored a couple of weeks ago but the tie had to be canceled to the involvement of players in this year’s Basketball Festival.

Police placed second in the competition held in Cape-Coast while members of Ashaiman including Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Swingman Dennis Dugbennu joined a select team from Greater Accra Region to win the tournament.

Last season’s finalist Lions, have not been in action in the league for a considerable time after recording a 71-47 win over Junior Reformers of Prisons.

On the other hand, the Police team has been very active playing games across board including last weekend’s 39-47 loss to defending league champions Nungua Coldstore.
