Warriors (red) faced a loss prior to the cancellation.
CYO (yellow) topped Novas in the opening game.

Navy Warriors matchup against Dunks Knight has been called off midway through the final quarter of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II game played earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

CYO beat Novas Academy 64-53 in the opening game for its fourth win of the season.

The entertaining tie ended abruptly with Dunks leading 37-28 due to rain showers that rendered the poorly conditioned playing surface in Tudu.

Light showers affected most parts of Ghana’s capital region including the league center which remains subject to the natural elements.

Like most playing surfaces in the country, the Lebanon Court is in a poor state due to the harsh exposure to the weather; many games have been affected by showers irrespective of the intensity.

Per reports gathered by Basketballghnaa.com, the game has been rescheduled to take place at the same venue on Monday September 18.

Both teams headed into the tie without a win all season with Dunks losing twice in as many games and Warriors losing all three games prior.

Dunks can feel hard done by the misfortune since the young side looked good for its maiden win; the cancellation came with 6:10 left to play in the fourth quarter.
