Reformers of Prisons continue to blitz its way in this year’s Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.

The team has recorded its fourth straight win the league thanks to a 51-35 win over Spartans at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Reformers are yet to lose a game this season while Spartans form early on in the campaign has been poor with the side losing four games on the bounce.

John Mensah and Raymond Maja featured prominently in the first quarter for Reformers with Mensah scoring a three point shot after beautiful ball movement from the Prisons side. Center Benjamin Abankwah’s size proved difficult for Galaxy to contain in the opening quarter.

Galaxy started the second quarter strong with Raymond Affram draining a three point shot. Philip Barley checked into game to score instantly for Prisons.

The score was tied at 16 with 2:34 remaining and remained tied at 18 to end the first half. Walters Kakra, Aminu Abibu and Rafiq Brimah played key roles Galaxy’s strong play in the quarter.

However Nii Ayi Mensah scored three straight uncontested layups after Mohammed Yakubu drained a shot from deep to give Reformers a 37-24 lead after the 3rd quarter.

Yakubu gathers offensive rebound and scores with Rafiq Brimah making one of two free throws for Galaxy to trail 31-41 with six minutes remaining.

Andrews Ayienab stole an inbound pass to convert a layup and make score 48-32 with two minutes remaining in fourth quarter. The Point Guard scored the final basket of the game with tough layup to seal the score.
