Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Student Sani Alhassan has won the 2017 Jump Ball Quiz. The Pharmacy Student won the competition piping fellow Etornam Kudolo and Emmanuel Pratt during the live broadcast on celebrated basketball television show “Courtside” which airs on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

Alhassan clinched top spot with 24 points, four ahead of Kudolo; Pratt, a National Service Personnel finished third with 12 points.

Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Ashong was on hand to present the contestants with prizes and souvenirs from sponsors Decathlon Sports and Ocean Spring Water.

Sani wins 1000 Ghana Cedis, two balls and a shopping voucher while Kudolo walks away with 300 Ghana Cedis and a shopping voucher worth 200 Cedis and a ball.

Pratt on the other hand, walks away with 200 Ghana Cedis, a shopping voucher worth 100 Cedis and a basketball. President Ashong, who described the deep knowledge of the contestants on universal basketball matters as “intimidating”, stated the performance is indicative of the growing interest of Ghanaian youth in the sport.

The just ended contest is the maiden edition on the program which airs on Sunday between 16:00 and 18:00 GMT.
