Spartans have registered its first of the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II following a 58-57 win over Dunks Knights.

The tie took place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu and was the first of two fixtures honored at the venue.

Unlike previous matchups where the Tudu based team failed in front of its home fans, the latest round ended in success with Spartans clinching a close win.

For Dunks, the loss is the fourth of the season for the exciting young team and comes on the back of a 43-66 loss to Navy Warriors in a postponed game earlier this season.

Spartans had previously lost to Junior Rangers and Reformers of Prisons in the opening rounds of the ongoing campaign.

On the other hand, Aspirants losing streak has been extended to five after falling 37-64 to Reformers in the second game of the round.

The Dansoman-based side has been struggling to get results since the campaign commenced and the 27 point loss to the yet to be beaten Prisons side is another low point for the exciting young side.
