Prempeh (white) in action against OWASS on Friday

The winner of the 2017 Ashanti Regional Basketball Qualifiers is yet to be decided after two previous attempts to choose a winner between Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College.

The big clash which determines the gold winning representatives of the region is still up in the air following previous postponements.

In the first game, the tie ended 16-16 but overtime period was not honored as poor visibility at Opoku Ware’s Court forced officials to postpone the tie.

Several minutes containing the huge crowd at the venue was primarily responsible for the game’s late end. To prevent a similar situation, the game was moved to Toase Senior High School.

However, rain interrupted the rescheduled tie in the third quarter with Opoku Ware leading 24-21and set for a big quarter.

As at the time of writing, no word has been officially announced as the new date to settle the grudge match.

Both teams have secured places at the national tournament with T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in the boys division. Kumasi Girls and T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High Schools will represent the region in the female division respectively.
