Opoku Ware Point Guard and 2016 Sprite Ball Championship winner Emmanuel “Ghost” Agyapong has stated emphatically he was targeted by folks of Prempeh College after sustaining a hand injury.

He made the statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com following the injury which he sustained in a scuffle with supporters of Prempeh College in the aftermath of Opoku Ware’s crunch tie against their arch rivals in the final game of the Ashanti Regional Qualifiers for the next Sprite Ball.

Reacting to a question whether the lead up to the injury was preempted, the soft spoken playmaker was adamant he was targeted by the opposing team.

“Yes most definitely because they as individuals told me they were going to hurt me…maybe because of this injury, I will be more careful” he said.

With reigning regional national champions Opoku Ware leading 24-21 in the third quarter, heavy rains lashed the court at Toase Senior High School which forced officials to call off the game for the second time.

A few days prior, crowd troubles forced the game into the night meaning overtime period could not be played due to poor visibility; the game was tied at 16.
