Rangers beat Spartans (green) in an earlier encounter.
Bottom ranked sides Spartans and Dunk Knights have recorded losses in the latest round of games in the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season.

Knights lost 63-91 to Reformers of Prisons in the opening game of the round before Novas Academy put Spartans away courtesy a 52-45 result.

The duo headed into the respective fixtures occupying the last two spots in the standings; Dunk was ranked 12th while Spartans ranked bottom of the pile in 13th place.

The impressive youngsters at Knights just couldn’t stand the might of the experienced Prisons who headed into the tie with an eye for the division’s summit and title.

With the win, Prisons all but guarantees itself a spot in next season’s Division I thanks to a league leading ten wins in 11 game record for the season.

After eking out a surprise win over former top four dweller CYO a few weeks back, Dunk have missed out on building momentum to close out the season.

For Spartans, losing against Novas means the team has just a win to show for its efforts all season.
