Rifles (black) lost to Panthers in a prior game.
Reformers (green) topped Panthers

Panthers have missed out on securing qualification to next season’s Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I following a 66-67 overtime loss to Junior Reformers.

The loss is Panthers fifth of the season and comes in the latest round of games in the league which had Navy Warriors play another interesting game against Junior Rangers.

Warriors beat Rangers 59-46 to secure its eight straight win in the division and omn the brink of booking one of three spots to qualify from Division II.

For Panthers, that possibility is lost after losing in surprising fashion to the young Reformers side who ended the game with three players on the court.

After seeing out all fixtures in the campaign, Panthers is tied on 19 points with Warriors but fall to fourth place due to an inferior goal difference.

The veteran side end this season with seven wins in 12 games and a highlight 74-70 win over Ghana Police which ended the latter’s winning run in the competition.

Panthers dropped to Division II in 2015.
