Tema Community Point Guard Aninagyei Osei has been named the 2017 Most Valuable Player after a dominant performance in the just ended season.

The burly floor general was heavily involved in his team’s title winning efforts in the league; Community 4 beat Ashaiman Lions in two straight games to win the Finals.

The home side successfully defended its home court by winning 58-54 and 47-38 over Lions to clinch this year’s title replacing 2016 winners Nungua Coldstore.

Osei, who was named MVP at the 2016 Ebi Bright Tournament, carried the team for long stretches in the campaign almost single handedly willing his team to the crown.

His rival in the finals, Ashaiman Lions Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw was named the Best Three Point Shooter in the league while Coldstore Forward Kwame Boamah Djan was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Volta Region-based Akatsi Rifles handed an award for the team’s dedication and commitment to the league; the side commutes to and from the region to feature in the competition.

An Under 19 tie between Community 4 and Community 12 ended in a win for C4 prior to the commencement of Game Two.
