The winning team
Ashaiman Lions have lost the 2017 Tema Basketball League crown to Tema Community 4 after losing 38-47 in Game Two of the series but didn’t walk away from C4’s Court empty handed as Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw got rewarded for his exploits beyond the arc.

The renowned sniper was named the best Three Point Shooter of the just concluded season after consistently lighting it up several feet from the basket.

He beat out competition from back court David Amartey, Community 4 Guard Kent Fosu, Community 2’s Ebenezer Borsah and Tema Heat’s Mohammed Awudu.

Though his shot was largely off in Lions Game Two loss, Pobi-Siaw’s few makes on the night gave his side several chances to pull even and take the game’s lead.

His presence on the court was the first in the Final chapter of the league as he missed Game One due to hiscall up to Ghana’s National Team for the FIBA Africa 3×3 Cup held in Togo little over a week ago.

Aningayei Osei of C4 was named Most Valuable Player in the competition with Kwame Boamah Djan of Nungua Coldstore named Defensive Player of the Year.
