STU (white) in action against Saints.

West Siders Basketball Club and Sunyani Technical University (STU) will not compete in the new Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League.

The pair failed to meet requirements to register for the 2017-2018 season despite having an extended period to complete the process.

STU and West Siders had up to the close of Thursday, November 23 to register but neither side was able to do so forcing officials to omit the two sides from the roster.

According to GSP Public Relations Officer Daniel Addo, the six team roster will be maintained for the season without changes.

This season’s roster was announced on Thursday with a tentative clause due to the possible addition of STU and West Siders.

However, the temporal list will remain intact for the new campaign without STU and West Siders for the first time since the league began.

Defending champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) headline the roster with 2015 Champs Suncity Braves.

LIR, Desert Rabbits, Barracks Scorpions and Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG Saints) round up the roster.
