Unsurprising results were produced on Day One of the FIBA World Cup 2019 qualifiers in Group A taking place in Yaounde.

Host nation Cameroon beat Chad 65-60 and Tunisia blew out Guinea with an overwhelming performance to win 96-56.

The win ensures Tunisia continue its ways since annexing this year’s African Nations Championship (AfroBasket) title.

Coach Mario Palma has named the same members of the winning team for the first round of World Cup qualifiers.

The team responded by running over West African nation Guinea to pace the group ahead of tonight’s game.

Cameroon on the other hand, was made to sweat a bit with Chad giving home fans nervous moments several times in the encounter.

Tunisia can seal its place in the next round of qualifiers tonight should they beat Chad while Cameroon play Guinea.

The reigning Champions continue to roll along without key men Michael Roll and Salah Mejri of Dallas Mavericks.

Games in Group B and D will be played next year.
