Late additions to the 2017-2018 Global Sporting Platforms (GSP) Basketball League have been tasked to pay a fine for delay in registering for the campaign.

West Siders and Sunyani Technical University (STU) are expected to pay the sum which has been disclosed to Basketballghana.com; the fine will be paid to the league board.

Both teams missed out on satisfying demands from the league authority in order to be registered for the this season’s competition which has games in Week 2 take place at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani.

Despite having extended period granted to them, neither side completed the process in time only doing so after the opening round of games were completed.

According to League Public Relations Officer Daniel Addo, West Siders and STU will pay the fine to GSP Management which had six teams planned to compete in the season.

Both teams competed in games played this past weekend with STU shocking Barracks Scorpions 47-25 in the final game while West Siders lost 32-61 to LIR in the preceding game.

Defending champion University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) continues its winning run by notching a second straight win courtesy a 37-14 win over CUCG Saints.
