Koomson (top right) with Mfantseman at the January 2016 edition
Mfantseman Girls Senior High School Basketball Coach Ernest Koomson has launched a tirade at the Central Region’s Sporting Authorities following his team’s omission from the list of schools due to compete tomorrow.

12 schools will compete in the male and female divisions at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast on Tuesday December 5 to identify teams that qualify to Ghana’s national high school basketball competition-Sprite Ball Championship.

The Sprite Ball Championship takes place next year from January 4-6 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 16 boys schools and 10 girls schools set to compete.

However, Mfantseman’s surprising absence for the second time has caused Coach Koomson to vent his spleen on a situation he puts down to the regional authorities agenda to frustrate his side.

“We are not part someone at the regional office has a beef with our (school) authorities and this going against us…how come Holy Child College and Wesley Girls are competing and from our zone they are taking only Aggrey” he said.

Aggrey Memorial, Holy Child, Wesley have been paired with Winneba Senio High School, Adankwaman and Swedru Business School inthe girls division.
