Mfantseman Senior High School is not competing in games taking place at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast.

The team was omitted from the list of schools featuring in the Central Regional qualifiers for next year’s Sprite Ball Championship under controversial circumstances.

Poised to represent alongside Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion from the zonal level today, the team was informed about the omission which hasn’t gone down well with Mfantseman.

Coach Ernest Koomson has expressed his disappointment after getting cut due to what he believes as an agenda to get his side ousted from the qualifiers before pledging a protest from his side.

“We very disappointed…very bad. We want to participate at the Sprite Ball no way we have to miss this year” he said in an interview with Basketballghana.com

Mfantseman has finished twice in third place in previous editions and plan to protest the alleged unfair treatment.

The team missed out on the last edition of the Championship under similar circumstances and was looking forward to featuring in next year’s competition which takes place at the El Wak Stadium in Accra from January 4-6, 2018.
