Coed Senior High Schools Sacred Heart and Tema will be involved in qualification games to Ghana’s National High School Basketball competition (Sprite Ball Championship) on Saturday.

Both teams will participate in games in the female and male divisions slated December 9 at University of Professional Studies and PRESEC-Legon Courts respectively.

Sacred Heart’s Female Team has won the Sprite Ball Championship on two occasions in 2009 and 2010 but has missed out replicating such form since.

The team has been matched against West Africa Senior High, Achimota School, Accra Wesley Girls, Labone, Accra High, Chemu and Tema Senior High Schools respectively.

Sacred Heart’s Male Team featured at the last edition held in December 2016 and exited at the quarter finals with Tema’s Male Team failing to qualify for the national event.

Tema Senior High School’s Female side has been a consistent participant in the national competition but is yet to hit the high mark of winning the top prize.

Its best performance was recorded at the January 2012 edition where the team placed second behind Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School from the Ashanti Region.

Tema’s Male side is up against the likes of Host PRESEC-Legon, PRESEC-Osu, Ningo Senior High, Sacred Heart, St. Margaret Mary.

The national games will be played from January 4-6, 2018.
