The preseason competition tips off with a game between Tema League Champions Community 4 and University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Male Basketball Team at 15:30 GMT.
UPSA is a late replacement for Ghana Police who according to reports failed to show much commitment to participating in the tournament.
For UPSA, the competition is a first major outing for the side since crashing out of the 2017 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Championship.
Francophone Stars will play Ghana Navy in the second game of the round; Francophone needed a massive win in a one off game against Tema Rockets to make the cut for the games.
Despite missing out originally, Rockets will feature in the tournament as a replacement for Akatsi Rifles who initially replaced Nungua Coldstore.
The final game today is between Ashaiman Lions and Tema Heat; Lions play on Sunday against Rockets.
