Ghana Center Amida Brimah has moved to the starting line up of Austin Spurs after impressing in recent games in the NBA Gatorade League for his side.

Should he improve further, the 6 foot 11 inch player could be selected to the league’s All Star team in 2018 along with other top performers.

However, he will be ineligible to face Mexico’s National Male Basketball Team following an announcement released by the NBA regarding next year’s friendly encounter.

After double digits in rebounds and points in consecutive games, Brimah produced four points, three blocks and six rebounds in Spurs 111-104 win over Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday. The team takes on Rio Grande Valley Vipers on December 16.

The game will be played during the All Star Break on February 18, 2018; the All Star Games will be held in Los Angeles with several activities planned during the exhibition event.

The friendly will be used to pick players for Team USA’s next set of qualifiers in the Americas region for the 2019 FIBA World Cup to be held in China. Former NBA Coach Jeff Van Gundy leads USA.
