Augustine’s (green) lost gallantly to Mfantsipim

St. Augustine’s College Physical Education Head Kojo Owusu has stated the school’s basketball team needs to work more ahead of the Sprite Ball Championship.

He made the statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com following his team’s 18-20 loss to bitter rival Mfantsipim School in the final game of the Central Regional qualifiers.

Augustine’s topped Group A ahead of Winneba Senior High School and Insaniyya Senior High School to face Mfantsipim in the finals and secure a spot at the national championship next year.

Though not entirely disappointed with his team’s performance in the loss, Owusu was quick to note the needs work to perform better at the national event in Accra than the last edition.

“We will have to inject more discipline into the team and then polish more and then come up. If we are coming with this performance, I don’t think we will get far we will need to sit down and work more” he said.

Augustine’s won the January 2016 edition and has another title shot when Sprite Ball takes place at the El Wak Stadium from January 4-6, 2018.
