Dubbed the Campaign Tournament, the competition tipped off on December 16 at the Tema’s Chinese Court with a trio of games played.
Finalist Ashaiman Lions featured in the opening round and registered a 57-56 close win over Tema Community 2 with Tema Heat recording a 61-33 win over Tema Rockets.
However, C4 was expected to compete in the upcoming round against the likes of Francophone Stars and Ghana Police.
However, Basketballghana.com gathers, the league winners have withdrawn from the competition due to internal matters.
This follows Nungua Coldstore’s decision to skip the preseason session under similar circumstances long before the competition tipped off.
Despite the news, organizers are certain the competition will not be affected as teams like Akatsi Rifles have been reeled in to complete the roster.
Lions will be in action this weekend against Tema Heat in a crunch tie while Ghana Navy entertains Francophone and Rifles take on Ghana Police.
