PRESEC-Legon at the last Sprite Ball
OWASS Harris gathers rebound in Sprite Ball final

Opoku Ware won the boys division at the December Sprite Ball Championship.
With little under 12 hours remaining to end voting to decide which schools complete the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship roster, two schools from Ghana’s capital region lead the race.

In the male division, Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) leads the polls with 41,457 votes ahead of St. Peter’s Senior High School who have 34,635 votes.

In the female division, St. Mary’s Senior High School holds a big lead with 1,491 votes way ahead of closest challenger Okuapeman Senior High School who have 467 votes.

Both schools are in line to feature at next year’s Sprite Ball despite missing out on automatic places at the regional level in Accra.

Neither team secured the top positions to represent the region and has to top the polls to sneak into the pool which has 15 boys and nine girls’ schools already.

Voting ends tonight at 21:00 GMT ahead of the draw which takes place on Sunday December 23 on Kwese Free Sports from 16:00-18:00 GMT.

Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong will be present for the event. The Sprite Ball Championship takes place next year from January 4-6, 2018 at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
