Tema League Defensive Player of the Year Kwame Boamah
Former standouts in Ghana’s most celebrated high school basketball championship-Sprite Ball- headline the Lace Up Tournament set to be held today at the Sakumono Court.

Kwame Boamah Djan and Sydney Larbie lead the contingent fronting the one day event which is set to have players from different teams in Ghana’s capital region Accra and beyond compete.

The tournament is open to all interested teams and is expected to have players feature in several matchups and slam dunk competition.

The event tips off at 13:00 GMT and outstanding individuals and teams will be rewarded with cash prizes and souvenirs from sponsors.

Nungua Warehouse Company Limited and Carabao Energy Drink are headline sponsors of the event which is set to thrill fans.

Djan played for St. Augustine’s College at the 2007 Sprite Ball Championship with Larbie starring for Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) from 2011 to 2014.

Both missed out on winning the grand trophy as Djan’s St. Augustine’s placed second behind Achimota School while Larbie’s GSTs best finish was a bronze medal.
