Austin Spurs have clinched its third straight win in the NBA Gatorade League following a 98-96 win over Lakeland Magic in its latest outing.

The win highlights the team’s improved form in recent games and an advantage for Ghana Center Amida Brimah over Magic Point Guard Rodney Purvis.

Both players played at the University of Connecticut under Kevin Ollie with Brimah captaining the Huskies in his final year.

However, the more offensive minded Purvis topped the individual battle registering 27 points, three rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.

Brimah on the other hand, registered far lower numbers recording eight points, eight rebounds, three blocks and an assist in 23 minutes.

While both players went undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft, Purvis and Brimah have impressed in the G League to clinch an NBA roster spot.

Purvis paced all scorers in the game while Amida’s three blocked shots led the game’s category in the winning display.

Austin play against defending champions Raptors 905 next on December 31 on the final day of the year.
