Lions topped Community 2 60-47 in a game the Ashaiman side deserved to win following an impressive performance to clinch the final competition prior to the start of next season’s league campaign.
Lions Forward Carl Kuzagbe was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament following a string of standout performances in the three week tournament.
Kuzagbe was named Defensive Player of the 2016 Tema League and adds the top individual prize in the preseason tournament to his collection.
It is the first title for Ashaiman since the team began competing in the Tema League.
Winning the trophy is a major coup for Lions after falling in final games at several competitions including back to back losses in the league.
Ashaiman replace Nungua Coldstore as Campaign Tournament winners with the win and sets the team up for next year’s league competition.
Ghana Police placed third thanks to a walk over win over Francophone Stars who failed to show up for the game.
